This is the second and final song that I posted last night to YouTube. It is the 10th song, and the last song, from the Dark Waters album. This song revisits and re-iterates the emotional theme of it’s part 1 version which appears at the beginning of the album. Being somewhat of a concept album, the first and last song follow a similar theme musically, but where the first song is timid, sparse, and designed to feel tentative, this version is big, powerful, lush, and full of something I can only call “understanding”.

I hope you enjoyed the Dark Waters album. It took a very long time to bring the album to life and release it to the public. So far, it has not really caught on but I believe over time the people like you who love good original music will discover it and tell their friends, who will tell their friends, and so on. In the end, I just want people to experience it.

High Wire Part 2 Lyrics
Lyrics by Randy McQuilkin
Music by Jerry Boutot

I can’t tell you why
but I feel like I have been here before
But our eyes cannot see beyond the skies
That’s why we’re afraid to open the door

Seeking answers with our minds
We all weave within a web of mystery
People are leaving here every day
The rest of us walk the wire thinking of eternity
Asking will I fall or will I fly
From this bittersweet drama of comedy

Now I can’t tell you why
But I feel like I have been here before
But our eyes cannot see beyond the sky
That’s why we’re afraid to open the door
