Track #3 from the Dark Waters Album – Wayward Child – is now a music video and available on YouTube. The song is about Poets, really. Randy McQuilkin, my partner on the Dark Waters album, was really writing about how Poets are “wayward children” and have been dismissed by society throughout the ages. But I chose to put a different spin on it and included a lot of photos of Dead Rock Stars and other Famous Dead Musicians in the video at the beginning, most of whom died untimely deaths either at their own hands or through their own stupidity (or failure to recognize their mortality). At the end, I put a bunch of photos of the Mug Shots of Famous People (some of which are in the Dead Musicians club as well). Because of my LOVE for Breaking Bad I put a photo of the Walter White mug shot (when he was maced and arrested) as the final mug shot picture. Once again, shot in my little studio nook in my office in Spring Hill, FL, it’s just my way of trying to add some artistic flair to a very limited set of video footage. Originally when I started recording video for this album the idea was just to show the playing of the parts, but I have gotten carried away. Hope you enjoy it!

PLEASE SHARE and Comment! I’m getting more views lately as my SEO Optimization efforts have been creating more organic visits to my site and YouTube page, but what I really need is for my fans to help me by liking, thumbs upping, G+ing, sharing, etc. Sharing is the most important thing. Share it to your Facebook twitter, G+ accounts. Help me get noticed!

On another note, this one took quite a while longer than I expected to complete it and get it online. I had to spend quite a lot of time over the last several weeks trying to get the video generated in a format that YouTube wouldn’t chop down to awful compressed blocky-ness. I ended up generating the full video and uploading it several times and every time the quality is terrible during complex transitions and fades. After researching and trying a few things, I realized that videos created with NVIDIA and CUDA hardware acceleration are transcoded better by YouTube into their FLV format. Gobledy-gook, I know. But it’s still not perfect. I want that incredible crisp cinematic quality of HD video that I see in some other videos from YouTube. On my computer, ALL of the output I did looks fantastic. What you will get with this YouTube video is pot luck, depending on the bandwidth of your internet connection and the consistency of the stream.
